Homestay or Resorts in Wayanad City / Town?
Interestingly, many tourists think that Wayanad is the name of a City or a Town. Almost every other District in Kerala has a town or a city with the same name. For example, you have Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) City within the Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) District. And significant number of Travelers from outside Kerala inquire about (or, alternatively search in the online search engines) "Resorts or Homestays in the Wayanad City." A significant aspect of the appellation of "Wayanad" is that, there is no locality with that name in the entire District. Wayanad is the name of a District, mostly covered by forests, wild life sanctuaries, plantations, trees and there are only very small areas of urban localities in Wayanad. If a Traveller is very keen to stay closer to Towns or cities, enquire "Resorts or Homestays near to Sultan Battery, Wayanad" or "Resorts or Homestays closer to Mananthavady, Wayanad". The Three major towns in Wayanadu are Sulthan Bathery, Mananthavadi and Kalpetta (District Headquarters).
Hence when ever you want to find guest house, Hotel, Resort or Homestay closer to the towns, you may look for Accommodation in these towns. Remember, staying closer to town is not necessary and not really recommended. Most of the exotic places are away from cities. You know, it is impossible to cover the entire Wayanad District in one or two days.
